The Eighth District Dental Society is a professional association consisting of dentists from the eight counties of Western New York—Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, Genesee and Orleans. There are currently about 1,000 members in the Society.
The Society is organized for the purpose of encouraging improvement of the health of the public, to promote the art and science of dentistry, and to represent the interests of the members of the profession and the public which it serves.
Governed by an Executive Council made up of 45 members, the Eighth District Dental Society is a component district of the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association. A three-person staff, consisting of an Executive Director, an Executive Assistant, and an Office/Accounts Manager, provides operational support.
Through the Eighth District Service Corporation, the Society provides a comprehensive offering of member benefits. In addition, the Society provides a membership communications program, a grievance procedure, and a continuing education program.
